The Great Debate: Children or Not

The great debate of a lot of couples is to invite children to their wedding or to leave them off the guest list.

We personally chose to leave children off of our guest list.  The majority of our guests did not have children anyways, so it would have only been a couple.  Our wedding was running late into the night and we were having alcohol and did not feel that was an environment for children.

Pros of having children at the wedding:
- They are your family and you want to include them in your wedding
- You get to have adorable children attendants (flower girl and ring bearer)
- They make for some of the cutest pictures
- Parents don't get upset that you didn't invite their little darlings

Pros of not having children at the wedding:
- You save money by not having to pay for their meals
- You don't have to worry about fussy children during the ceremony and reception
- Parents are less likely to leave early

Are you for or against having children at your wedding?

We didn't have kids at ours. I was indifferent about it, but my husband was afraid they would get whiny during the ceremony, so we just skipped them. It worked out really well because it gave the few people there who had young kids a night to let their hair down.

We also chose not to have children at our wedding, mostly because only a couple people would have had children to bring, including some who are notoriously badly behaved and come from large families. I love kids and think they're cute when they do attend, but our choice was definitely the best one for us.

Luckily, the only children that we even have in our family are the flower girls! We dodged a bullet on that one. I do not think we would want a lot of children but I would not mind having a few. :D
