Instead of a real wedding this week, I have something even better. A kick butt Trash the Dress session. I absolutely love the bride's dress.
Tab McCausland completely rocked out this Trash the Dress session with Eryn and Chris. What started out as a normal shoot, turned into a groom cutting off the dress with a butcher's knife and throwing it into a trash can, pouring Jack Daniels on it, and setting it on fire. You can't trash a dress more than that.

Honestly, I find this offensive. And not because of the bride in her underwear. It's one thing to have a 'trash the dress' session where you just get great pictures, but actually DESTROYING a dress is NOT cool. It's wasteful, and not at all smart for a bride on a budget who might want to resell her gown to get some of her money back. Just my 2 cents.
I'm actually going to be part of a Trash the Dress debate at the end of the month over on SmartBride. I'd love to hear anyone else's opinion on this trend... here's the website for anyone interested:

Some dresses aren't going to be worth anything after the wedding. I know mine isn't.
Since we had our wedding outside, the bottom of my dress is disgustingly dirty. The dry cleaner can not get the majority of the stains out. So, I couldn't donate my dress to a charity because of that reason. And if I sold it, I wouldn't make anything more than $100 for it. Not really worth my time to try to sell it.
I personally would never actually destroy my dress, but I do plan on doing a trash the dress type photo shoot with my husband. We'll be doing it at our university's campus in the stadium and probably get in one of the fountains. Might as well have some fun and get some more use out of a dress than I can't really do much else with.
I definitely appreciate your opinion on the matter though Jessica.
Oh wow! Totally crazy and HOT! I couldn't go quite that far...but love it. Like you, Ashley, I am hoping to sell my gown...but after picking it up at the drycleaners (they boxed it), they told me it was so dirty along the bottom, they 'did the best they could' to get all the stains out. :( So I'm afraid when I open it, it won't be in a condition to re sell. We are currently working through opting for a trash the dress session :)
If you notice the dress that was actually "trashed" is not the same dress in the first sequence of pictures, so perhaps she will get to re-sell her "real" dress! I love these pictures b/c they have such attitude and emotion! What a fun thing to do!
Hrm. I think this is a better alternative than hanging it in the closet for years of dust collection. I understand that some people could resell their dresses. I don't think I would do this in my "expensive" dress, but if I could find a white bride-like dress for $20 or $30, it would be worth some one of a kind pictures.
Wait, it's not the same dress! At the beginning, she's wearing a strapless, but her man cuts up a halter.
Im not really a fan of this shoot. It reminds me of some weird rape porn I once saw at Smut and Eggs. because of the knife. its to aggressive for my taste.
but if they love it then.. im glad they like it.
It's very popular for brides to not even use their ACTUAL wedding dress for a TTD session. They purchase a cheap one online on ebay or something and use that. I love it!
Yeah I'm not a fan of this one either. It's a little too agressive for my taste, with the knife and the fire. And I agree w/Jessica that it's almost offensive...because to me it looks like they're burning a symbol of their marriage. I think TTD sessions are awesome, but this is a little too far for my taste.
whoa..this is a bit out there for me...to each their own I suppose..I find it mildly tasteless, but I am on the modest side, so maybe I just don't get it...
