I am control freak very detail oriented, so I have to be in charge of the music the DJ is playing. I'm not going to completely control what he plays, but I am going to give suggestions and decide on the important songs.
So, here's what I've come up with for the ceremony so far. I'm still not 100% sure that I want our recessional song to be a modern song or whether I want to keep it traditional. That's the area that I'm wavering on a little.
Prelude
"A Whole New World" -- Aladdin
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" -- Lion King
"Seasons of Love" -- Rent
Bridal party entrance
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire"
Bride's entrance
"Canon in D"
Recessional
"Accidentally in Love" -- Counting Crows
What is the recessional for your wedding?

Love your music choices! I think I walked into Canon in D too!
our recessional will be 'ring of fire' from johnny cash :)
Our recessional song is "Lost in this Moment" by Big and Rich. NONE of my music is traditional. We picked country love songs that mean something to us, so none of it is normal wedding music :D
Great picks! Our recessional is a church song called “The Lord of the Dance.” We’ll be playing the Counting Crows song at our reception, though. I love that song!
Our recessional is I've Got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas although we're also thinking that this could be the song that everyone walks in to.
I think that modern songs sound so fabulous because it really personalizes everything. We can't have amplified music in our church though - so we're doing classical guitar, which means we're sticking to Canon in D and Ode to Joy and whatnot. I love your choices.
Interesting choice with "Accidentially In Love." Is there a story behind that one?
Sweet Disney Music!!!
I just found your blog today and I'm loving it!
We're having a pianist do the prelude (various songs, including some Disney) and recessional (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring) and the Eastern Iowa Brass Band will be playing a few pieces (Processional: All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera and You Raise Me Up) during the ceremony. My fiance and I are in the band and they've agreed to play for us.
