Wedding Wire

Another bride turned me on to a great planning site. Wedding Wire allows you to keep your budget, guest list, to do list, and vendor contacts all in one place. I've currently been keeping all my information in excel spreadsheets, but that was just too much work and I only had access to them on my own computer. Now I can view them anywhere and my fiance can also access them.

Photography Blogs

I love looking at photography blogs. That is probably because I love photography and am thinking about starting my own business after the wedding. I don't know if I will or not, but I would love to pursue photography as at least a hobby when I have more time for it.

Here are some of my favorite photography blogs.

My favorite is my own wonderful wedding photography, Micha Everett at Memories by Micha. Her work is so great and you can tell how much she loves what she does as well. She also takes the time to get to know her clients, which really shows in her work.

Another blog I love is Mary Beth Tyson Photography. She is actually one of Micha's good friends and was the one who got her started in photography. Mary Beth just recently shot pictures for the Tallahassee episode of Extreme Home Makeover and they turned out amazing!

I spent about 30 minutes the other night looking through the great wedding shots on Forever by Kylene's blog. Kylene is such a sweet person and she had an amazing wedding herself that was actually featured The Knot's magazine.

Linda and Olyn Long at Long's Photography also do gorgeous work. They were WAY out of my budget for the wedding, but I'm most likely going to use them for my boudoir pictures.

These are just a few of the ones I read. I have tons more photographers that I adore. What are you favorite photography blogs?

Date Change

Well, we just found out that Willow Pond has our wedding date changed. I just emailed our photographer to see if she's available on either March 27th, April 3rd, or April 10th. I'm hoping it's April 10th because then we only have a week until our honeymoon! I'm kind of bummed that we have to change our wedding date, but I can deal with it. I'd rather change our date and have a venue we love than not change our date and not be happy with our venue.

Sonnys BBQ Catering

If we change venues, we're going to be using Sonny's to cater. We'll be choosing 2 meats and picking it up ourselves since our venue is out of city limits. It's going to be $6.99 per person, plus tax. Not bad if I can say so myself. The $6.99 includes:

- 2 meats (Choose from pulled pork, sliced pork, pulled beef brisket, sliced beef, chicken, and smoked turkey)

- 3 sides (Choose from baked bean, coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, mac and cheese, green beans, tossed green salad, cornbread stuffing, baked potato, baked sweet potato, corn on the cob)

- BBQ sauces

- Bread and butter

- Paper products and utensils (We'll buy our own plates and napkins because we don't want to use ones that say Sonnys on them)

- Lemonade

- Sweet tea

Great deal for the price! This will definitely be one of my favorite parts about the wedding.

New Venue? Willow Pond

We're not very happy with our current venue and I think that's because we rushed into it. Now it looks like we might change to another one. We looked at Willow Pond at the beginning of our venue hunt, but we thought it was too expensive so we stopped looking at it. It is comparative though when we change the catering around because we'll be using Sonnys which will only cost us $6.99 per person! It's going to cost us around $200 more though because we have to get insurance, but that's not a big deal.

Red Bridesmaid Dress for Sale

I'm selling a new with tags floor length bridesmaid's dress. It's a size 10. I paid $200 and I'm asking for $150. If you're in need a good priced BM dress, please contact me!

More pictures in my bio.

Shoes!

My shoes came in today and they're gorgeous. They're the exact same shade that they showed on the website.

I bought them from Shoes on a Shoestring and was a bit weary. Their website looks like it would be a scam, but they are apparently a reputable company in New Mexico, so I decided to try them out. Their shipping was kind of expensive ($8), but they got here in two days. You want to make sure you know exactly what you're buying because shipping is non-refundable and you have to pay to ship them back to return them. So if you know they're going to fit, go ahead and buy them. I had tried on the shoes in store, but they didn't have the blue, so I knew what size fit me.

Candle Favors

PurBliss is a company that makes soy based candles. I had the honor to try some of them out and they're delicious. Banana Bread makes your house smell like you've been baking all day and Pina Colada makes you think you're at the beach.

Now, you're probably wondering why I'm posting a review about candles on a wedding blog? That's because they make wedding favors!

They have multiple designs you can choose for along with tons of scents. You can even customize the colors on the design. They even have a damask design! Your guests would love this great smelling favor and they're reasonably priced. If I didn't already have my wedding favors, I would totally get these for my guests.

So, go check out PurBliss's wonderful wedding favors and give your guests a gift they would enjoy.

I think I found my wedding shoes. I found them in a store in the mall, but they only had them in Ivory and my dress is White. Well, when I got home, I googled them to see if they sold them in white. They don't, but they sell them in Turquise! There's only one website that has them in stock and I've never heard of them (Shoes on a Shoestring), but apparently they have a physical store in New Mexico and are pretty reputable. So I have to run back to the mall tomorrow to figure out what size I need and then I'm going to order them! I'm so excited to finally find shoes!

Wedding Favor

I came across this cute wedding favor while doing a feature on my other blog. I did the feature on BathBuddies and she has these cute heart shaped bath fizzies that smell like vanilla. You could use these as a wedding favor or a bridal shower favor or something. I thought they were cute and if we didn't already have our favors I would probably pick some of these up.

Each of the hearts come pre-packaged so all you have to do is set them out for guests.

You can win one of BathBuddies bath fizzies over on my other blog. Check it out!

Tissue Paper Pomanders

I started working on my tissue paper pomanders today. It took a lot of trial and error to get the right size flower, but I think I got it now. It took me about 5 minutes to make the flower though. I hope it gets a lot easier the more I make. I'm going to be making 10 pomanders and I've heard that each pomander takes about 50 flowers. That's 500 flowers I have to make!

This is a comparison of the two I made. The small one was the first (way too small) and the larger one was the second (just perfect!).

PSA: Michaels Flip-flops

For those who are doing "Dancing Shoes" baskets, Michaels has flip-flops in their dollar bin. Mine had pink, blue, and black.

Diet Accountability

Well, I did horrible this past week on my diet. I said I was going to count calories and I did it for 1/2 a day. Oops! I was in a group picture on Friday and looking at it, I hate the way I look. I look fat and I feel fat. Not attractive at all. So, that's my motivation. I want to feel pretty again.

Here's the picture. I'm on the far right.

I'm currently 138 lbs. I want to be at 110 lbs. This is Day 1. I'm going to make myself skinny.

Venue Booked!

We booked our venue today! We're using Capital City Country Club in Tallahassee, FL. Here's a picture of the room being set up for a small reception.

We're also using the outside patio for our ceremony, but I wasn't able to get a picture of that because they had a tent over it for a ceremony tomorrow.

First (Semi) Wedding Gift

I got this flatware storage tray from Henckels flatware. I registered for $99.99 worth of flatware at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and this was their free gift for doing that. I can't wait until someone buys us the flatware to go in it.
